The birth of a child is a natural and unique event. It is a milestone in a woman’s life. The physical and psychological changes raise questions and fears. The various preparations for…childbirthallow each one to live herpregnancyand her delivery with serenity.
Childbirth preparation: sessions covered by insurance
Eight prenatal and parenting preparation sessions are covered by Social Security. The first session is reserved for an interview, with the expectant mother alone or with her partner.
The sessions provide an opportunity to ask questions and connect with other pregnant women . They also help prepare for the arrival of the baby. Expectant mothers will find advice on healthy lifestyle habits and information on various support organizations. They will also learn how to:
- react in case of problems;
- to recognize the signs that should alert her and lead her to the maternity ward fordiagnosis(bleeding, burning during urination, suspected infection)herpes,fever,painintense in the stomachitchingstrong ones that never ceaseedemasignificant with weight gain and swelling, visual disturbances, persistent headaches, fluid loss);
- knowing when to go to the maternity ward.
Where do the childbirth preparation sessions take place?
Exercises will be offered to help her experience a healthy pregnancy and prepare her body for childbirth. These prenatal classes are held in the hospital or clinic where the birth will take place and are usually led by…midwives.
These exercises can also take place outdoors, depending on the type of preparation chosen.
Not all maternity hospitals offer all types of preparation.
